What did life look like before joining The Cat Butler?

Helen: "I have worked in secondary education for 26 years teaching French and German at all levels and to all ages and abilities. For twenty years of my teaching career, I was the subject leader for modern languages. Although teaching is very rewarding it can, and was, taking over my life and with "the big 50" on the horizon I decided I wanted to do something completely different career-wise and that a lifestyle change was also needed."

Why cat sitting?

Helen: "The long and short of it: I love cats and I have always had cats. Sat at home one Sunday afternoon, my husband and I were discussing the need for a holiday and what to do with our cats when away. I started looking for cat sitters in our local area. The idea of working with (for?) cats and the challenge of running my own business got me very excited. So, I started searching for franchise opportunities and came across The Cat Butler website. I liked what I read, did some further research and with fingers crossed, filled in a simple questionnaire. The rest is almost history and I can't wait to start my new "pawsome" career."

Tell us about your feline family

Helen: "My husband and I have five adorable cats. They are our children and our world revolves around them. Tilly is our oldest "daughter" and the lady of the house. We adopted her from the RSPCA in Wallasey. She is beautiful (white and ginger with two different colour eyes), very affectionate and likes to come and go as she pleases. She has the loudest purr and just loves to curl up on your lap. She shares the house with "the boys". They are Bengal cats and bounce around the house causing mischief night and day. They are very vocal and love to play. Although they are indoor cats, they have a great catio to play outside in and weather permitting we can both be seen walking them up and down our lane on a harness."
