Rachel Dasley, owner of The Cat Butler Tamworth, volunteers as a Scan Angel, helping reunite lost cats with their owners and raising awareness about the importance of microchipping.
At The Cat Butler, our love for cats extends far beyond the services we provide. We are always seeking ways to support the wider feline community and make a lasting impact on the lives of our furry friends. Today, we’re excited to highlight one of our extraordinary franchisees, Rachel from Tamworth, who has taken her passion for cats to new heights by becoming a Scan Angel.
A Scan Angel is a dedicated volunteer who helps reunite lost cats with their families by using a microchip scanner. When a stray or lost cat is found, Scan Angels step in to scan the cat’s microchip, providing quick access to the owner's contact information, allowing for a speedy and safe return.
Rachel has always been an animal lover, and through her work as a Cat Butler franchisee, she channels that love into providing exceptional care for cats across the Tamworth area. However, she noticed an increasing number of missing cats posted on local Facebook groups for cat owners and felt compelled to help. Upon discovering the Scan Angel programme, Rachel knew she’d found the perfect way to contribute further to her community.
Rachel reflects on her experience:
"Helping cats find their way home is incredibly rewarding. As a cat sitter, I see firsthand the joy and comfort these pets bring to their owners. I couldn’t bear the thought of losing my own cat, Milo, so being able to help reunite families with their cats is truly fulfilling."
Rachel’s efforts extend beyond scanning. She’s also a strong advocate for microchipping and keeping contact details up to date.
"Microchipping is a simple and effective way to ensure your cat can be returned if they ever go missing. It’s now required by law, and I encourage every cat owner to make sure their pet is chipped and that their contact details are kept current."
Rachel’s dedication as a Scan Angel is a shining example of the caring, close-knit community of cat lovers that The Cat Butler is proud to support. We couldn’t be more proud of Rachel and her commitment to going above and beyond in her service to cats and their owners.
Her story is a reminder of how small acts of kindness can make a significant difference. As Rachel continues her work as a Scan Angel, we know she’ll keep making an impact, one scan at a time.
We invite our clients and followers to celebrate Rachel’s incredible work as a Scan Angel. If you’re in the Tamworth area and have a lost cat or spot a stray, don’t hesitate to reach out to Rachel for assistance. Together, we can ensure every lost cat finds their way back to a loving home.
