Introduction

At The Cat Butler, our mission has always been to provide the highest standard of care, not just for your cat, but for every cat entrusted to us. That’s why we’ve recently updated our Terms & Conditions, with an important reminder to all clients to check they’re meeting our Health Requirements before each booking.

This isn’t just about ticking boxes—it’s about safeguarding the health, comfort, and happiness of all the cats in our care. Here’s what we ask of every client, and why it matters so much.

Caring for every cat as if they were our own – our updated Health Requirements help keep all cats safe, happy, and healthy

Up-to-Date Vaccinations

Vaccinations are your cat’s first line of defence against preventable diseases such as feline flu, feline enteritis, and, in some cases, feline leukaemia. Even indoor cats can be at risk—bacteria and viruses may be carried in on shoes, clothing or even through open windows.

By ensuring your cat’s vaccinations are current, you’re not only protecting them, but also helping to prevent the spread of illness to other cats we may be caring for.

If your cat is not vaccinated, we will require written confirmation that they are under the care of a veterinary professional and receive regular health checks. This helps us ensure that even unvaccinated cats are being monitored and managed responsibly.

Up-to-date vaccinations help protect your cat—and others—from preventable illnesses. If your cat isn’t vaccinated, we’ll need confirmation they’re under regular veterinary care

Regular Worming

Worms can cause significant discomfort and health problems for cats, including digestive upset, weight loss, and anaemia. Some types of worms can also be passed to humans, especially children.

To protect both your cat and others, we ask all clients to keep their cats on a regular worming schedule, as advised by their vet. This helps maintain a healthy environment for everyone.

Veterinary-Grade Flea Treatment

Fleas can be more than just a nuisance—they can trigger allergic reactions, cause infections, and spread disease. Over-the-counter flea treatments such as shop-bought spot-ons, collars, sprays, or shampoos are often ineffective and may not provide lasting protection.

For this reason, we require that flea treatments be prescribed or supplied by a vet and administered at least 48 hours before the start of each booking. This allows the treatment to take effect and minimises the risk of fleas being introduced into homes we visit or passed on to other cats in our care.

Please note: We may request proof of flea treatment prior to a booking.

Regular worming and vet-prescribed flea treatments help keep your cat—and others—healthy, happy, and parasite-free

A Shared Responsibility

By meeting these essential health requirements, you’re helping us maintain the high standards of care and professionalism that define The Cat Butler. It’s a shared responsibility that ensures:

  • Every cat receives care in a safe and healthy environment

  • Our team can provide their services without the risk of spreading illness or parasites

  • You have peace of mind knowing your cat is well protected

Meeting our health requirements helps protect your cat and the other cats in our care and gives you peace of mind
